Astronaut Pikachu arrives in Pokémon GO for World Space Week
A limited-time event brings a space-suited Pikachu to raid battles and research rewards through October 10.

What is Pokémon GO?
Pokémon GO is a mobile game where players discover and collect Pokémon while exploring real-world locations. A raid is a boss battle at an in-game Gym; winning can give you a chance to catch the featured Pokémon.
Timed Research is a checklist of tasks with an expiry date. Completing tasks earns rewards. Astronaut Pikachu is a costume version of Pikachu, so this event is particularly relevant to players who collect themed Pokémon.
The update
Pokémon GO is joining the space celebrations with a Pikachu dressed for the occasion. Players can encounter the astronaut costume through limited-time battles and a research checklist.
World Space Week runs October 4–10. The event celebrates the Pokémon Company International’s collaboration with the European Space Agency and features Astronaut Pikachu in one-star raids.
Its Timed Research asks players to win raids. Winning one raid awards experience and a Pikachu encounter; additional raid milestones award experience or Stardust, a resource used to power up Pokémon.
The daily news report gives the finish as October 10 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Check the in-game research timer so you know how long remains to complete tasks and claim rewards.
