How Pokémon Sleep works

Pokémon Sleep is a free-to-play game for iPhone and Android that uses your sleep sessions to help you discover Pokémon. In the morning, you study the sleeping Pokémon gathered around Snorlax, a large Pokémon you look after. You can befriend visitors and add them to your helper team.

During the day, those helpers collect berries and ingredients. You use the ingredients to cook meals for Snorlax and increase its Strength—a game score that helps determine your sleep-research encounters. Cooking Week temporarily boosts this part of the game. So yes, there is meal prep involved in a game about going to bed.

The update

Pokémon Sleep is giving players a reason to pay extra attention to Snorlax’s meals this week. A limited-time cooking event boosts meals and introduces two Pokémon that help gather ingredients.

Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3 runs October 5–12, ending at 3:59 a.m. local time on October 12. Foongus, a mushroom-shaped Pokémon, and its evolved form Amoonguss join the game as ingredient specialists. Both have increased encounter chances during the event.

Cooking pots hold twice their usual ingredients, or four times on Sunday. Regular dish strength is boosted to 1.25×; Extra Tasty meals get 2.5×, increasing their contribution to Snorlax’s Strength.

The ingredient-gathering skills Ingredient Magnet S and Ingredient Draw S receive a 1.5× boost. Reaching Snorlax’s Basic 2 rating also earns Foongus Incense through an event mission. Mini Candy Boost doubles experience gained from candy, but costs four times as many Dream Shards, the game’s upgrade currency.
