Minior arrives in Pokémon GO with evening meteor-shower encounters
Minior’s Orionids event runs October 19–24, with boosted encounters daily from 5–9 p.m. local time.

Before we dive in
Pokémon GO is a mobile exploration game where Pokémon appear on the map around you. Limited-time events change available encounters and bonuses, with many schedules following the local time where you play.
Minior is the Meteor Pokémon, with a Meteor Form and differently coloured cores. A debut event can introduce only part of that variety, so seeing several colours in promotional artwork does not mean every one arrives at once.
The update
Pokémon GO is turning the Orionids into a catching opportunity. Minior’s debut event starts October 19, with an evening boost that makes the timing as useful as the location.
The Orionids Minior Shower runs October 19 at 5:00 p.m. through October 24 at 11:59 p.m., using local time. Minior can appear in its Meteor Form in the wild, and catching it awards increased Stardust. The official announcement connects its appearances with recurring meteor-shower events.
Daily encounters are boosted from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., when shooting stars also appear in the game’s sky. Different core colours are being introduced across the scheduled showers, rather than all being promised for this first event. Check the in-game event details for the version available where you play.
